How does experience modulate hippocampal activity via area CA2
Dates:1 September 2016 - 31 December 2016
Date limite de candidature:1 April 2016
Lab rotation proposal: 3 months
~ Sep-Dec 2016 ~ Jan-March 2017 ~ Apr-June 2017
Hippocampal area CA2 is a region known to be important for social memory. Pyramidal cells and interneurons in this region express a collection of receptors that make this region very sensitive to stress and social interaction. During this rotation, students will have the opportunity to learn how to prepare acute hippocampal slices from adult mice and examine the plasticity of area CA2 following a social and/or stressful stimulus.
