Research Highlight: WNTs in Zebrafish
ENP team leader Sylvie Schneider-Maunoury and her group have advanced our understanding of Wnt pathways in zebrafish morphogenesis. They found that a ciliary protein nephrocystin-4 is required for extension of the caudal pronephric primordium, that it controls the organization of cells in the formation of the cloaca, that it regulates the stability and localization of dishevelled, and that it represses the Wnt-β-catenin pathway.
